Seminars for FrightFest 2005: Demon Gargoyles
These are the Demon Gargoyles that we made last year and will do again this year. You will put fangs, wings and stain on them. Those who did one of these last year can bring theirs to upgrade them to winged demon.
Euro-Drawer Slide / Scissor Monster
Above right is a picture of Tim's Drawer Slide Monster shown last year at the gathering. The drawer slide is one of the Euro-type which are ball bearing and make for a smoother motion that the ones with wheels in a track. Our scissor monster shown on the right is a picture of the modifications we did.
Corpsed Chandelier
The picture above is of the corpsed chandelier that was proposed at FFNW 2004 to be a project kit for 2005. The kit will include the a kit for the hands, chains and shackles. There will be a demo at FFNW 2005 to show how to make shackles out of ABS and pvc. The chandelier kit will cost $80.00 to make as it is shown.
Demonic Dolls Another seminar is going to be the Demonic Doll seminar which was quite a hit last year at FFNW. Supplies are limited so make sure you sign up soon.
Bleeding Tombstone
The bleeding tombstone shown here is just to show how the mechanics of this prop work. You will need to choose the style of headstone if you sign up for this one. I was considering making the Celtic cross putting either a portrait or skull in the center. The tombstone itself will be 24" tall but you will also have a bottom block to hold the reservoir for the blood. This will make the tombstone 30" +/-.
Corpsing
This appears to be the year for corpsing at FrightFest. There are going to be at least three demonstrations on corpsing using different materials and different methods to achieve the same results. Demos will include:
- The Baron (Tim) will demonstrate latex corpsing
- Cheryl will be showing how she utilizes 'mismatched' latex paint and the bags of spider webs
- Shawn will demo the paper mache style that she used for corpsed hands
Wall Sconce I am pretty sure that few people will do the corpsed chandelier seminar due to materials costs but the Wall Sconce can give the same kind of ambience in the haunt for a lot less money.
Casting and Molding
On Friday August 26th from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Rob (House of Midnight) and Dyanna (FFBC Casting Queen) will be showing different casting and molding ideas. Six hours of molding and casting should hopefully cover all the aspects of this prop making process and give us a better understanding.
Since there will be many new faces and haunters in 2005, we will continue to have the basic seminars (see basic props page).
